Inferno
Inferno is the result of four years of study, creation, and obsession — a long descent into the depths of one of the greatest works ever written: The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.
As a Florentine, this project is deeply personal. It’s a tribute to my roots, to the culture that shaped me, and to the timeless poetry of Dante — a man who dared to venture into the unknown in search of light.
This book is my visual reimagining of Inferno, the first of the three parts of The Divine Comedy: Dante’s descent into Hell. It’s a journey through the darkest corners of the human soul, guided by reason, haunted by passion, and driven by the hope of redemption.
I have illustrated Inferno with 33 paintings — one for each canto, using the iconography of American traditional tattooing and baroque aesthetics. Each work opens a new gate into this world of fire and shadow, where mythology, philosophy, and human emotion collide. You’ll meet gods and monsters, heroes and sinners — echoes of ancient Greece and reflections of our own inner battles. You will find all the chapters in three languages, Italian, English and Spanish beautifully edited by Raking Light Projects.
Inferno is not just a book to look at — it’s a journey to experience. Every chapter is an invitation to pause, reflect, and perhaps recognize a part of yourself within the story.
So take a breath…
And get ready to descend — and discover beauty in the darkness of Inferno.
